Brain Architecture Project
An understanding of the brain’s function and dysfunction cannot be obtained without consideration for its architecture or structural organization. That underlying organization can be described at many levels, from genes and protein interactions to structural-functional systems. Still, the defining architectural feature of the nervous system is that it forms a circuit. In an era in which the complete genomes are available for numerous organisms, our knowledge of neuroanatomical connectivity and associated anatomical information remains surprisingly sparse and disconnected. This project seeks to bring together what we know and determine what we need to find out.
